Carleton Davis:
[the Davis family are all sitting in their bedclothes on top of their sleeping bags, in front of a roaring fireplace]
It was a dark, and stormy night... full of shadows, dark and slimy, creepy things. Suddenly, there was a noise...
[a bang is heard in the distance]
Carleton Davis:
It sounded like... like... Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!
[everyone jumps]
Jennifer Davis:
Daddy, what are you doing?
Carleton Davis:
Well, you're supposed to tell scary stories, when you're sitting around the old campfire, darlin'!
Corwin Davis:
Yeah, Jennifer!
Jennifer Davis:
This isn't the old campfire, it's the old fireplace! And we're sitting on the floor of this stupid ol' haunted house...
[we see a mangled hand at Jennifer's shoulder reaching towards her face]
Jennifer Davis:
...and any minute some dumb ghost is going to come up and...
[sees the hand]
Jennifer Davis:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhh!
[Corwin is wearing a fake monster glove and starts laughing]
Jennifer Davis:
Oh my God, Corwin! Corwin, I'm gonna kill you!
Eloise Davis:
All right, all right! Carleton, Carleton, let's not talk any more about ghosts!
Carleton Davis:
OK everyone, momma's spoken! Time to hit the hay, let's go!
Corwin Davis:
Aw, shucks!
R.E. Davis:
Awwwwww!
Carleton Davis:
Come on, everyone. Get in your sleeping bags, Corwin? Good boy, son.
