"Hell no I don't plant evidence", that's your response: you get incensed, "LAPD cops don't plant evidence. I made a damn fool of myself by using a racial epithet, I never should've done that." You "lay it out" because you've got nothing else to lose: he didn't do that, why in the hell didn't he do that?
