He's a bit of a sadist as well as a bit of a voyeur. That is, he likes to push his relationships as far as they'll go. And therefore, the people that he's close to, the superstars as it were, if he is a voyeur-sadist, they must be exhibitionist-masochists. I think that's the reason that the superstars burn out as fast as they do. They're pushed to the extreme of their behavior and then they're no longer interesting to watch.
