There was a connection between the folk movement and the punk movement in that folk music... I mean initially, you know think about Pete Seeger was all about "Let's get as many people as possible singing these songs. It's very easy to play these instruments. These are three chords. You know? And they're for folk. They're for everybody to sing." And I think that was his attitude. And to a certain respect that's kind of the punk ethos.
