John Boothe:
Jill, I said I'm sorry. What more do you want me to say?
Jill Kinmont:
I don't want you to say anything. I just want to go.
[pause]
Jill Kinmont:
I *have* to go.
John Boothe:
But why?
Jill Kinmont:
Because I'll die the next time. I know I will. I came so close to it the other times. After Dick, I went into pills. After my father it was worse. I stopped wanting to teach. I didn't even paint. You have no idea how hard it was to want to come back. To find something... anything... that mattered to come back for. I love you, but I can't have you! I can't have anybody.
[pause]
Jill Kinmont:
Goodbye Johnny.
