Remington Steele è una serie televisiva americana che fonde i generi della commedia romantica, della commedia drammatica e del giallo nelle vicende di una agenzia d'investigazioni diretta dalla proprietaria Laura Holt (Stephanie Zymbalist), che dopo aver scoperto come i pregiudizi impediscano ad una donna di trovare clienri per questo genere di attività, cambia nome all'agenzia e si inventa.un capo maschio, Remington Steele, appunto. Il suo stratagemma sembra funzionare, ma gli si ritorce contro quando un ladro e truffatore, interpretato da Pierce Brosnan, assume l'identità di Steele e ne diventa l'uomo immagine. La serie si dipana attraverso i casi dell'agenzia e le disavventure del rapporto tra Laura e Remington.
