Jose Ferrer said in an interview that he didn't care for this film. A few years later, however, he was at the Cannes Film Festival to meet Gerard Depardieu. The significance of this point is that Jose Ferrer won the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1950 for playing Cyrano de Bergerac.
