Trasposizione moderna del Cyrano di Bergerac. Steve Martin fa il capo pompiere di una città di provincia. Intelligente, colto, simpatico, ma afflitto da un enorme naso, si innamora di una bellissima bionda, ma lei gli preferisce un collega più bello.
