Several ways the Fatal Five are depicted significantly different from the source material: Mano is the leader rather than Tharok. The Emerald Eye is shown effecting Mon-El. In the comics, its power is based on Kryptonite and Mon-El is one of the few Legionnaires immune to it. The Emerald Eye's power is being related to Green Lantern technology. Validus is shown as slightly taller than human with equivalent strength to Superman rather than being around 50 ft. tall and much more powerful. Tharok can create weaponry from his body. He does not have this ability in the comics. Mano and the Empress are in a relationship.
