This film features two atypical lead characters in Star Boy/Thomas Kallor and Green Lantern/Jessica Cruz. Starboy/Thomas Kallor suffers from schizophrenia that is being controlled with 31st century medicine and Jessica Cruz has a form of depression that makes her afraid of most things outside of her house, but is able to temporarily shake it off to wield her power ring.
