The horse race footage takes place at the old Del Monte Hotel racecourse, which was located near what would become the famous Pebble Beach golf course and lodge. A few years later, another notable horse riding scene was filmed on the grounds of the golf course---Dame Elizabeth Taylor and the race horse, The Pie(bald,) as Mickey Rooney trains them both in Gran premio (1944).
