In General Landry's office, there is a framed board that is filled with all U S Navy patches with the exception of a NASA Apollo 11 patch. The SGC is an Air Force installation (at the time of the series) and there were no Navy personnel who were members of any team. Lt Gen Landry wears Command Air Force Pilots Wings. The Navy patches make no sense in the grouping they are in. They includes 3 ships, one being the USS Enterprise CVN 65 (which may be a tip of the hat to Star Trek) and another appears to be the USS Wichita LCS13. There is a Grumman A6 (aircraft) and a F14 Tomcat patch to go along with a Blue Angels Hornet patch. There are several F14 Tomcat squadrons: VF 211 Fighting Checkmates, VF 24 Renegades, VF154 Black Knights. There is also a VAW 124 Bear Aces patch, an E2 Hawkeye squadron. A Persian Gulf Cruise patch. There is also 2 patches that were from the movie Top Gun (1986). A Top Gun patch that was only used in the movie and a 3rd Marine Air Wing patch that Tom Cruise wore on his jacket.
