The Archangel of Death speaks in two voices at once (Doug Jones had to speak his lines twice, one in a high voice, and one in a low voice). One could say that one voice is masculine and another is feminine, which makes sense since Angels are traditionally supposed to be gender-less. It also evokes (potentially) imagery of the Demonic entity (In several versions of Christian Mythology, Demons are the fallen Angels who participated in Lucifer's rebellion) known as Legion, who speaks its words as a thousand voices at once.
