A lot of this movie takes place in Portland, Oregon. Their design for skies were gloomy with an overcast. The creative team did some research on the location and found that there were some things they could use like food pods and things they were not allowed to use like "Keep Portland Weird" which is trademarked (similar to the "Holloywood" sign) so they couldn't use that or any variations.
