The map shown in the opening credits is Stephen King's map of Maine which includes the fictional towns used for numerous King stories: 'Salem's Lot, Chester's Mill, Derry, Haven, and of course, Castle Rock. There's also a write-in for "crash site" near Haven, which refers to The Tommyknockers, another write-in for "Arrowhead" near Bridgton, which refers to The Mist, and the write-in "11:44 am" next to Chester's Mill is in reference to the time the dome appeared in Under The Dome.
