Despite the constant referral to Guerre stellari (1977), none of the main cast from the 1977 film appear in the show. Billy Dee Williams is the only major Star Wars actor to make a guest appearance, however, he first appeared in L'Impero colpisce ancora (1980), released in 1980, slightly after the time period That 70's show was set (1976-1979). (You could make the argument that Empire Strikes Back was actually made in 78 and 79, during the show's time period, and then finally released to the public in 80; so the show isn't cheating that much!)
