A early draft of the script had Wendy the Good Little Witch (another Harvey Comics character) appear and befriend Casper. However, the studio dropped her because they only wanted to buy rights for one Harvey Comics character. Hence the change with the names of The Ghostly Trio being Lazo, and Fusso having different names (Stretch, and Stinke) and different personalities. (Lazo was a loafer while Fusso had a persnickety personality.) However, Kat wears a red, baggy sweater in this movie, homaging Wendy. Casper and Wendy would meet in Casper e Wendy - Una magica amicizia (1998).
