Eric Forman is the unfavorite child to Red unlike his eldest daughter Laurie, who is Kitty's unfavorite as she's aware of her promiscuous and rebellious nature. Though never outright revealed, it's inferred that this is because Eric was an unplanned pregnancy, as it's revealed later in the series that Eric was an accidental child.
