Jeff Gorvette's racing number was originally planned to be "3", but it was changed to "24", to match Jeff Gordon's number. In the final movie, there isn't a racer in the World Grand Prix with the number "3", possibly out of respect for Dale Earnhardt, who died in a crash during the 2001 Daytona 500.
