In the beginning of the movie, when C.D. Bales (Steve Martin) is heading towards Dixies, he's confronted by two guys. One of them comments on the size of CD's nose by exclaiming: "3-D! Comin' at ya!" which could be a nod at the movie "Comin' at ya!" (1981). The first line of text on the the movies poster is "3-D!".
