Seth McFarlane admitted in an interview that the opening song was re-recorded in later seasons, mostly due to Stewie's line. Too many people thought Stewie's lyrics were "Effin' cry" when he was actually singing "laugh and cry". McFarlane redid it to better enunciate "laugh".
