At the end of the briefing, all the officers stand up and salute the commander as he leaves. This is an incorrect depiction of two distinct US Army customs: 1) At the end of a meeting (or briefing) EVERYONE (inlcuding the commander) stands up and salutes, usually while saying the unit motto. 2) When the commander exits a meeting (or briefing, or the office at the end of the day) everyone in the room comes to attention, usually followed by the commander giving the command to, "Carry on."
