In multiple shots of the Bf 109, it shows a cannon firing out of the nosecone. Although the Bf 109 was designed to have a cannon in the cone, most didn't due to engineering challenges. The Bf 109s in the movie could be the G-6/U4 version with an engine-mounted cannon and the R5 add-on gun pods.
