When researching in the library, Corso turns the page to view the final engraving. The picture changes between subsequent shots. The first depicts a different castle on fire than the one in the finale of the film, with a different looking woman on the beast, with a moon in her lap. In the next shot it instead shows the castle in the film on fire, (Château de Puivert) with the original woman swapped out to the one that resembles Corso's companion, without the moon in her lap.
