The Ramitelli air base as it is shown in the movie is ludicrous: everything is in the open, all the tents are lined up and one close to the other placed around the runway while all the aircraft are parked in full view and lined up as a perfect target. In WWII at least all aircraft and facilities were dispersed and camouflaged.
