Dopo la morte della madre, le sorelle Nicole e Annie fanno ritorno malvolentieri nella casa in cui sono cresciute per occuparsi del funerale. Durante le notte le ragazze percepiscono una misteriosa presenza: la casa si riempie di strani rumori, gli oggetti si muovono e il quadro di una strana donna cade vicino alla madre. Annie comincia a speirmentare una serie di visioni che la portano a scoprire una verità terribile sul passato della madre.
