Guerra del Vietnam, 1967. Tre giovani amici scappano da Hong Kong a Saigon, dove cercano di sopravvivere tra criminalità e mercato nero. Ma la guerra li "insegue" e vengono arrestati perché sospettati di aiutare i Vietcong; dopo essere stati rilasciati vengono rapiti dai Vietcong stessi. Il film racconta della guerra e di un gruppo di amici che cercano di viverci dentro e la conseguente perdita d'innocenza.
