Un giovane giornalista assetato di gloria, Luther, rievoca una tragedia lontana avvenuta in una villa tenebrosa e, per meglio cogliere i particolari dei suoi insoluti misteri, vi passa una notte in cui accadono cose impressionanti. Dopo una denuncia per falso del proprietario della villa, la polizia vi fa un sopralluogo e scopre che Luther ha detto la verità.
