In una zona desertica del Guatemala prende fuoco un pozzo petrolifero. Quattro disperati vengono ingaggiati per raggiungere la zona con due camion carichi di nitroglicerina per far saltare il pozzo. La missione è pericolosissima, ma i quattro - un corso, un muratore toscano, un tedesco e un avventuriero parigino - non hanno nulla da perdere.
