Balto e Jenna diventano genitori. Quando i loro cuccioli raggiungono l'età di otto settimane li portano in paese per darli in adozione. Tutti i cuccioli vengono adottati tranne una cucciolotta di nome Aleu, perché assomiglia ad un lupo, come il padre. Dopo l'incontro con un cacciatore, Aleu si rende conto che non verrà mai accettata per la sua somiglianza ad un animale selvatico. Sconvolta, scappa e inizia così per lei un viaggio alla scoperta del senso della vita. Alla fine Aleu si unirà ad un clan di lupi e ne diventerà il capo, guidandoli nell'oceano per condurli ai caribù che se n'erano andati l'anno precedente e Balto tornerà a casa da Jenna e dai suoi amici.
