Un pubblicitario, per aiutare un'amica prossima a ricevere una grossa eredità, benché sposato con un'altra finge di essere suo marito e passa la notte a casa sua. Un industriale li fotografa e li pone ad esempio di coppia americana modello; il protagonista è così costretto a continuare la commedia mentre l'ex marito dell'amica si accompagna a sua moglie. Ricevuta l'eredità, le cose, dopo un ultimo batticuore, si aggiustano.
