Nella tranquilla cittadina di Eastwick, tre amiche – Alexandra, Jane e Sukie (Cher, Susan Sarandon e Michelle Pfeiffer) – vivono una vita tutto sommato mediocre, ma con grande vitalità e speranza di trovare qualcosa di meglio, tipo un uomo in gamba. Daryl Van Horne (Jack Nicholson) arriva di punto in bianco a Eastwick col servitore Fidel al seguito (Carel Struycken) e si stabilisce in una lussuosa villa con, secondo alcune dicerie, un passato oscuro di stregoneria. Daryl non è proprio ciò che sembra e avvicina le tre donne con modi seducenti per fini che si rivelano tenebrosi e tortuosi.
