Il professor Henry Jarrod e il suo socio Matteo Burke hanno istituito un Museo di statue di cera dove sono riprodotti personaggi celebri, ma gli affari non vanno granché bene. Matteo, per incassare i soldi dell'assicurazione, decide di distruggere lo stabile e il suo contenuto. Nel tentativo di salvare le sue creazioni, Jarrod resta gravemente ustionato e dopo essersi vendicato del socio, decide di ricostruire il museo, usando questa volta dei cadaveri ricoperti di cera. Quando una ragazza riconosce nella statua di Giovanna d'Arco il volto di una sua amica, Jarrod tenta di eliminarla...
