Seconda Guerra Mondiale, il capitano Maude Garrett si unisce all’equipaggio, tutto maschile, di un bomber B17 con un carico segreto. Colto alla sprovvista dalla presenza di una donna su un volo militare, l'equipaggio mette alla prova Maude a ogni sua mossa. Proprio quando il suo ingegno li sta conquistando, scoprono i segreti che tiene nascosti e rischiano di rovinare la sua vera missione. Ma questo equipaggio ha più da temere: in agguato, nell'ombra, una presenza diabolica sta lacerando il cuore dell'aereo.
