Siamo nel 1965 e la radio delle forze armate in Vietnam ha un nuovo d. j., Adrian Cronauer, che diventa in breve amatissimo dai soldati per la sua alluvionale e irriverente irruenza; per lo stesso motivo invece i superiori lo detestano.
