C'era una volta, e precisamente al tempo del liceo, la coppia formata dalla miglior promessa della scuola, Calvin "La freccia d'oro" Joyner, e dalla sua fidanzatina, Maggie, che da lì a poco sarebbe diventata sua moglie. E poi c'era Robbie Weirdicht, il super ciccione, che l'ultimo giorno si era impresso nella memoria di una generazione, dopo essere stato trascinato nudo da un gruppo di bulli di fronte ad una palestra gremita di allievi. Vent'anni dopo, però, Calvin non sta più su quel piedistallo: la freccia è rimasta nell'arco. Robbie, invece, che adesso si fa chiamare Bob Stone, è un ragazzone tutto muscoli e salva il mondo per conto della C.I.A.
