In una emblematica e repressa nazione latinoamericana, un giovane ladro e nove potenti ricorrono a un alchimista perché li faccia partecipi del segreto dell'immortalità. Frutto di una cultura sincretica in cui sembra di ravvisare le tracce lasciate da Buñuel, Dalí, Fellini, Topor e Arrabal insieme, questo film surreale e simbolista può sconcertare o avvincere.
