Mr. Peabody è un cane eccezionale, dotato di un intelletto superiore si è separato dal branco in tenera età e ha conquistato tutto quel che uno scienziato può conquistare (fino al nobel) oltre ad eccellere nello sport. Sentendosi solo ha però deciso di adottare un bambino e per educarlo ha inventato una macchina del tempo con la quale portarlo di epoca in epoca a vedere la storia con i propri occhi.
