Evelyn Wang (Michelle Yeoh) gestisce una piccola lavanderia a gettoni, ha una figlia adolescente che non capisce più, un padre rintronato e un matrimonio alla frutta. Un controllo fiscale di routine diventa inaspettatamente la porta attraverso cui Evelyn viene trascinata in una avvincente e coloratissima avventura nel multiverso più innovativo e divertente mai visto al cinema. Chiamata a salvare il destino degli universi, dovrà attingere a tutto il suo coraggio per sconfiggere un nemico all’apparenza inarrestabile e riportare l’armonia nella sua famiglia. Con la sorprendente Stephanie Hsu (Shang-Chi), il film segna il ritorno alle scene dopo 40 anni del mitico Ke Huy Quan, interprete degli amatissimi Data (I Goonies) e Short Round (Indiana Jones e il tempio maledetto).
