Dave Kovic è un qualsiasi cittadino statunitense che però assomiglia in modo impressionante al Presidente. Cosicché, quando questi si becca un ictus, mentre sta facendo un "corpo a corpo" con una segretaria, gli uomini della Casa Bianca mettono al suo posto Dave. Dopo qualche imbarazzo, Dave se la cava benissimo, anche con la First Lady che era in rotta totale col consorte. E tutto si sistemerà al meglio.
