L'oggetto trafugato dalle stanze della regina dalla spia doppiogiochista Milady potrebbe essere usato infatti come ingannevole prova di una relazione tra la sposa del re di Francia e la casa Inglese, scatenando una guerra tra le due nazioni, proprio come vogliono le trame del perfido Cardinal Richelieu.
