1880.Sara (Salma Hayek), figlia di un ricco banchiere e Maria (Penelope Cruz), figlia di contadini, avevano pochissime possibilità di incontrasi e dividere la stessa sorte. Almeno fino al giorno in cui Tyler Jackson (Dwight Yoakam), rappresentante della New York Bank and Trust, le unisce nella cattiva sorte, distruggendo le loro famiglie per impadronirsi illegalmente delle terre messicane e permettere il prolungamento della ferrovia americana. Decise a vendicare i propri padri e a proteggere la terra dei contadini, le due giovani donne si trasformano in rapinatrici che assaltano, però, soltanto le filiali della Bank and Trust. Mandato dalla polizia di New York, per accelerare la cattura delle due fuorilegge, Quentin (Steve Zahn), appena nominato ispettore, si lascia presto conquistare dalle due affascinanti bandite mentre Tyler Jackson e i suoi uomini imparano a temere sul serio le pistole delle due donne che ormai l'intero paese definisce le "Bandidas"...
