Il film si apre con Lizzie che si prepara per la cerimonia del diploma, dove si vedrà costretta a tenere il discorso d'apertura e cade rovinosamente. Qualche giorno dopo, la ragazza si appresta a partire per Roma con la sua classe. A Roma deve dividere la camera con Kate e si ripromette, insieme a Gordo, di vivere quante più avventure possibili. Il giorno dopo conosce Paolo un ragazzo che canta in coppia con una ragazza, Isabella, che è identica a Lizzie, meno che per il colore dei capelli. I due iniziano a vedersi e Lizzie, per farlo, finge di essere malata, confidando il suo segreto solo a Gordo. Dopo un po', Paolo le propone di accompagnarlo ad una serata durante la quale dovranno cantare insieme e lei accetta. Nel frattempo, Gordo, per coprire Lizzie, finge di essere stato lui a scappare dall'albergo e quindi viene espulso dal gruppo e deve tornare a casa e Kate si mostra amica di Lizzie, standole accanto in questo difficile momento.
