Tratto da un successo di Broadway, il film narra la storia di un gruppo di artisti che mettono in scena uno spettacolo fallimentare. Tentano allora i loro figli, ma il risultato sembra identico perché una tempesta distrugge le scene prima del debutto. Un impresario, viste le prove, si offre di far debuttare i ragazzini in un vero teatro. Il film mostra una Garland sedicenne, diretta da un grande coreografo.
