Una spedizione scientifica danese nell’Artico alla ricerca di fonti d’energia scopre i resti di una strana creatura che potrebbero essere fossili, ma la presenza di carne e sangue sembra smentirlo: pare essere un pezzo di un rettile gigantesco, congelato. Il reperto viene spedito a Copenhagen per ulteriori esami. Accidentalmente scongelato, il pezzo di rettile risulta vivo e capace di rigenerarsi. Il professor Martens (Asbjørn Andersen) spiega la cosa alla stampa. Denominato Reptilicus e divenuto gigantesco, il mostro fugge in una notte di temporale, libero di devastare Copenhagen. Il generale americano Grayson (Carl Ottosen) deve organizzare le difese.
