Una bella sirena di Manhattan s'innamora di un terrestre che la salva dal rischio di finire in un acquario. Sarà lui, alla fine, a seguire lei nel regno del mare. Sceneggiata da Lowell Ganz, Babaloo Mandel, Bruce Jay Friedman e diretta da R. Howard è una graziosa favola alla Disney capace di evitare gli stereotipi e le banalità del genere. Ne fu fatto un seguito per la TV nel 1988.
