Nato da una delle molte scappatelle di Zeus con una mortale e cresciuto da un'umile famiglia di pescatori, Perseo è un vero eroe proletario che sogna di sovvertire l'ordine naturale delle cose andando a combattere gli dei stessi. Siccome non è l'unico mortale a pensarla così, il padre degli dei, aizzato dal fratello Ade che intanto mira a fargli le scarpe, decide di ricordare agli umani il suo potere liberando la più grande delle piaghe prese in prestito dalla mitologia nordica: il Kraken. L'unico modo per evitare che la creatura degli abissi distrugga la città di Argo è sacrificare Andromeda, figlia del re, che la stessa madre ha definito "Più bella di Afrodite". Quando si dice "cercarsela". Perseo però non ci sta e unitosi ai valorosi guerrieri di Argo vuole trovare un modo di sconfiggere il mostro.
