Ariel ora ha una figlia, Melody, ma la gioia per il suo arrivo è turbata dalla minacce di Morgana, la vendicativa sorella di Ursula, che la costringe a nascondere alla piccola la sua parentela con le sirene. Ma il richiamo degli abissi è troppo forte per Melody: il suo sogno di diventare sirena verrà sfruttato da Morgana nel suo diabolico piano di conquista dei Sette Mari.
