Due bambini, Sally e Conrad, sono soli in casa con la loro babysitter e il loro pesciolino parlante mentre la madre è al lavoro. Si annoiano finché non arriva un buffo gatto con un grosso cappello dove c'è tutto dentro. Il gatto ha con se anche una scatola, che non deve essere aperta per non confondere il mondo reale con il suo. Il problema era che non c'era il lucchetto per chiuderla, allora misero sulla scatola l'obesa babysitter. Ad un tratto poi, scoprono che il loro cane è scappato, e scorazzano in giro per la città a cercarlo. A sapere per primo la notizia, è il fidanzato della madre di Sally e Conrad, che acciuffa il cane.
