Un famoso ballerino, Jerry Travers, ed il suo impresario, Horace Hardwick, si devono recare al Lido di Venezia dove li attende Madge, la moglie dell' impresario, ed una giovane amica di lei, Dale Tramont. Prima di partire da Londra essi però conoscono Dale, senza sapere chi sia, e Jerry la corteggia. Per un equivoco Dale crede, una volta giunta a Venezia, che Jerry sia il marito della sua amica e, sdegnata, lo respinge e si affretta a sposare Alberto Beddini, un tenore italiano. Intanto Madge, con mezzi energici, punisce il proprio marito, ritenendolo colpevole di aver infastidito la ragazza. Dopo altri incidenti più o meno comici giunge il finale chiarimento e si viene a sapere che il matrimonio di Dale non è valido, poichè il "pastore" altri non era che il cameriere dell' impresario. Così Dale e Jerry ritrovano l' amore e possono sposarsi.
